Pormal nang nagsampa ang ABS-CBN showbiz news anchor at reporter na si Gretchen Fullido ng reklamong sexual harassment laban sa ilang katrabaho niya sa news and current affairs department ng Kapamilya network.


Isinampa ni Gretchen ang kanyang reklamo sa Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office ngayong Biyernes, October 5.

 Matagal nang usap-usapan sa showbiz circles ang plano ni Gretchen na gawan ng legal action ang diumano’y sexual harassment at panggigipit sa kanya sa trabaho.


Pero ngayon lamang ito nabigyan ng linaw dahil sa official statement na inilabas ng kanyang legal counsel na si Atty. Marvin B. Aceron sa pamamagitan ng Facebook.

 Pinangalanan ni Gretchen sa kanyang complaint affidavit ang dating ABS-CBN News executive na si Cheryl Favila at ABS-CBN News segment producer na si Maricar Asprec.

 Sabi sa isang bahagi ng pahayag, “Fullido alleged that Favila and Asprec sent her text messages that were loaded with sexual innuendos, which amounted to requests for sexual favors.

 “She further stated that when she rejected the advances, the two retaliated and made it difficult for her to work as a reporter and news anchor for TV Patrol.

 “It was a cycle that was going on for almost three years.”


Nakasaad din sa official statement na dawit sa reklamong libel ang tatlo pang katrabaho ni Gretchen sa ABS-CBN News Room—ang broadcast journalist na si Cecilia "Ces" Drilon, news executive na si Venancio Borromeo, at showbiz news reporter na si Marie Lozano.

 Nauna raw kasing nagsumite si Gretchen sa ABS-CBN management ng reklamong sexual harassment laban kina Favila at Asprec.

 Kasabay nito ang diumano’y paninira nina Drilon, Borromeo, at Lozano na gawa-gawa lang ni Gretchen ang nasabing isyu.

 Sabi pa sa official statement ng kampo ni Gretchen, “Fullido also filed libel cases against two news executives of ABS-CBN, Cecilia Drilon and Venancio Borromeo, news reporter Marie Lozano, alleging that the three besmirched her reputation when they stated that she filed a similar sexual harassment complaint against Favila and Asprec with ABS-CBN management to leverage her employment status with ABS-CBN.

 “Fullido in her Complaint Affidavit also said Drilon resorted to victim shaming and imputed statements that Fullido deserved to be harassed, since Fullido allegedly, was willing to wear a bikini with an inflatable pool with bubbles to shove up the ratings of TV Patrol, a leading daily news program.”

 Base sa ginawang imbestigasyon ng ABS-CBN management, ibinasura raw ang sexual harassment complaint ni Gretchen.

 Pero lumabas daw na “liable for Gross Misconduct” si Favila, kaya ito natanggal sa trabaho.

 Ganunpaman, desidido raw si Gretchen na ituloy ang reklamo laban sa respondents sa legal na paraan.

 “In July 16, 2018, ABS-CBN Management released a Decision dismissing the case for sexual harassment against Cheryl C. Favila but finding her liable for Gross Misconduct leading to her dismissal from the company recently.

 “Fullido attached a copy of the ABS-CBN Investigating Body’s decision to the Complaint.

 “Fullido, a regular employee and news reporter and anchor for ABS-CBN, is the first Filipino news celebrity to speak up against sexual harassment in the news industry in the Philippines.”
